Dear Ms Graham

I refer to your letter of 2 November 1998 (received on 4 November) and to our telephone conversation of 4 November. This letter is to confirm the outcome of our discussions, that is:

1.
as you have not raised any new issues in your letter of 2 November I will close your complaint as foreshadowed; and

2.
upon receipt of the $30 application fee, your letter will be treated as a request for the release of information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (1982) (FOI). I have forwarded your file to the FOI officer who will proceed with the application as soon as the $30 application fee is received. The FOI officer may decide to remit the application fee, in which case the money will be returned to you.

As I mentioned on 4 November, this office will consult with the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) concerning all the documents which it has provided to us. It may be that your request for these documents will be transferred to OFLC for a decision under FOI. You will not be required to pay another application fee if such a transfer occurs.

I realise that you are disappointed with the outcome of your complaint but in the circumstances I do not consider any further investigation would be warranted. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Yours sincerely

Phyl Crawford
Senior Investigations Officer
