David Basden has a passion for privacy and civil liberties with a specific focus on growing censorship and monitoring of the Internet, as well as issues rising from increased electronic collection of personal information.

David has over 10 years experience working in the Internet and telecommunications industries, and is strongly opposed to both Internet censorship and proposals such as the now-abandoned “Australia Card”.

David currently works as a company Director for a technology startup. His hobbies include parenting, amateur radio, playing guitar and writing in the third person.

David joined the EFA Board in 2007.
