1998 Senate Committee Inquiry |
The Senate Select Committee on Information Technologies has announced an enquiry into Self-Regulation in the Information and Communications Industries. The terms of reference are "to evaluate the appropriateness, effectiveness and privacy implications of the existing self-regulatory framework in relation to the information and communications industries and, in particular, the adequacy of the complaints regime". Applications formally closed on 5th January 1998 but it is understood that late submissions will be received. The Committee is expected to begin public hearings during February 1998.
